Transcendental meditation is a technique to calm down your nerves and make your body and mind relaxed. It is the most natural and efficient way to keep your mind in a calm and peaceful state. Transcendental meditation is primarily practiced by repeating a mantra. More to come on that later.

History

The history of transcendental meditation dates back to the Vedic era. We are aware that the origin of Vedic is in India, so the technique of transcendental meditation also originates from the land of Vedic. Transcendental meditation was first introduced by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the year 1955.

Maharishi learned the technique from his teacher and then demonstrated the technique of transcendental meditation to his peers. Later, in the 1960’s and 70’s, the beneficial effects of transcendental meditation were confirmed by the results of various medical researchers.

One of the most significant steps taken by Maharishi was the introduction of the technique to the western world. In the year 1960, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi traveled to the United States and introduced the practice of transcendental meditation.
